hmmm oh well, I guess I'll have to live with it,
however, I actually think it doesn't upconvert, according to my friend (who knows what he's talking about) says that the TV outputs what's inputed into it

I have a LCD HDTV 46 inch Series 6 650 (at least that is what it said on the manual) Samsung, don't know if it upconverts or not, what do you mean by that anyway?

yes, I've hooked in all the cables and have gone to Wii Options and selected 480p if that is what you mean by "going to options"
as for upconverting, I don't know what you are talking about, I believe my Samsung automatically outputs what is input into it, for example, since my Wii is inputting 480p, that's what the Samsung automatically outputs, 480p, instead of 1080p
I'm pretty ignorant about TVs so I'm probably wrong, hopefully you can help...
