The first review is in and you'll see it here first at the Information Center. The July edition of Nintendo Power is out and the verdict on The Conduit is in. I will let you read and discover the score for yourself, but the below quote should give you a glimpse of the review:
"...the best pure first-person shooter on Wii."

Update: This scan is from the JULY issue of Nintendo Power. I scanned it myself and have the actual magazine. Unless someone mailed me a fake magazine, it is 100% real.

If a Nintendo-only-mag gave it an 8 that basically means that EDGE, GameInformer etc. will probably give it no more than a 6 or 7...

This better not discourage anyone from buying this game, this is the game that everybody is watching. Don't let it fall in sales!

I don't care what they say. They aren't really encouraging ppl to buy the game. I say to hell with the negative bastards! Buy this game! Tuh.... 8?! it should've gotten atleast a 9 in my point of view.
Guys this is a very good review. They commented on the things I think most knew they would. The point is they liked the gamed and compared its defining online to Halo. No it's not perfect, but it's a damn good game.
yeah I thought that the review was good as well, but I wanted them to review the game with other Wii FPS games and see how they stack up

Someone makes a fake hands-on smashing the conduit. Obviously, another fansite made this; a nightmare of a review. Where are the captions for the pictures? Why isn't the review listed in the table of contents for this months Nintendo Power? Why is the REVIEW one page, when the HANDS ON was SEVEN??
I'm not closed to the idea of this being real, but I do know that writing something of this level would be possible, and this is the PERFECT bad review for this game: poor gameplay, bad story, sketchy level design, and an 8.

Also, in the hands on, didn't they use exclusive pictures? Why would they use only pictures that are open to the public?

if this is a fake review, then the pranksters did a damn good job of putting one together. and even if it is real, no one can really complain that "the game should have got AT LEAST a 9" has anyone played the game yet? i think not. and besides, 8 is a good score

Listen dude, it doesn't work that way, nintendo power by no means mean they are biased to nintendo games. They have more than one reviewer so the opinions may vary. And no just because NP gave this game an 8 deosn't mean that it is a 6 or 7 rated game elsewhere. They gave Okami a 7.5 at NP and it was ranked much higher elsewhere from 8 - 10's.
Don't take reviews too seriously, they only give you an idea of what a game is like and where the strenghts and weaknesses are, it doesn't tell you how much fun an individual can really have in the game, since people have different opinions.
